Stronger beginnings. Locally led. Read Our Approach

Partner with us

Put useful resources behind locally led African priorities.

We welcome partnership conversations with funders, companies, universities, professional networks, diaspora leaders, and other institutions whose resources and capabilities align with priorities defined and led in Africa.

A focused invitation

Partnership means contributing to a defined priority—not submitting a general request for support.

Our role is to align useful resources with African leadership. We begin by confirming strategic fit, local decision-making authority, mutual value, and the conditions for responsible delivery.

Who this page is for

Organizations and people seeking to contribute.

Funders and philanthropic institutions

Foundations, family philanthropies, donor collaboratives, and individuals seeking to support locally led priorities.

Companies and professional networks

Organizations able to contribute aligned funding, technology, services, expertise, or responsible visibility.

Universities and research institutions

Teams interested in equitable learning, research, implementation, or training partnerships.

Diaspora and strategic collaborators

People and institutions with relevant relationships, capabilities, and a long-term commitment to locally led work.

Areas of focus

A clear mission fit comes first.

We consider conversations connected to the health, nutrition, development, and care of women, newborns, and young children from pregnancy through age five.

  • Healthy pregnancies and safe births
  • Newborn and infant health
  • Maternal and child nutrition
  • Responsive caregiving and early development
  • Community and frontline health capacity
  • Referral, data, safeguarding, and service coordination

Ways to partner

Different resources. One standard: they must serve a real, locally defined need.

01

Flexible and catalytic funding

Support locally defined priorities, responsible due diligence, learning, and needs that narrowly restricted funding may not cover.

02

Multi-year institutional partnership

Build a sustained relationship around shared outcomes, clear roles, local authority, and accountable stewardship.

03

Requested technical expertise

Contribute specialist capability only where a local partner has identified a need and a clear counterpart and scope exist.

04

Research and learning collaboration

Advance useful evidence through equitable questions, governance, credit, data protection, and practical application.

05

Technology, tools, or services

Offer solutions that are appropriate to local conditions, maintainable, accessible, and responsive to an identified priority.

What to expect

Our partnership process.

1

Initial fit

We review alignment with our mission, current priorities, geography, timing, and the contribution being proposed.

2

Exploratory conversation

If there is a plausible fit, we discuss the priority, local leadership, intended value, constraints, and expectations.

3

Mutual due diligence

The parties consider governance, safeguarding, compliance, capability, reputation, and responsible use of resources.

4

Joint design and agreement

Partners define roles, decision rights, budget, measures, communications, learning, and closeout before work begins.

5

Delivery, learning, and review

Locally led teams implement while partners monitor progress, listen to feedback, adapt, and account for results.

An inquiry starts a review; it does not create a funding, procurement, placement, or partnership commitment.

Important information

ADA USA does not operate a rolling unsolicited grant process.

We do not review or respond to:

  • unsolicited grant proposals or general appeals for financial support
  • requests for vehicles, equipment, materials, buildings, or other in-kind donations
  • individual medical, school-fee, travel, visa, sponsorship, or emergency requests
  • projects outside our maternal, newborn, child health, nutrition, and early-development focus
  • proposals that do not identify meaningful local leadership and decision-making authority

If ADA USA opens a grant, expression-of-interest, procurement, or country-specific opportunity, we will publish or directly share its eligibility, scope, deadline, and submission instructions. Please do not send a full proposal or attachments unless invited.

Vendors and consultants

Introducing a product or service does not place an organization on an approved vendor or consultant list. Procurement and consulting opportunities follow a separate, documented process when a defined need exists.

A potentially aligned contribution?

Start with a concise introduction.

Please include your organization, the resource or capability you can contribute, the mission connection, relevant geography and timing, and any existing relationship to a locally defined priority. Do not include confidential or sensitive information.
